最後一仗

自從列斯聯輸給修咸頓，賽和葉士域治；同時間侯城搶分成功，先和史篤城再贏卡迪夫城。在英冠聯的榜末一直以得失球差被壓倒列斯聯，在護級的路上好像愈來愈灰暗。在分數上，侯城要大比數輸給普利茅夫，列斯聯則要嬴打比郡8球。在這樣的情況下廠有護級成功的希望。問題是這樣的主觀願望卻往往和客觀事實不相稱。

在最役後一埸的比賽前，列斯聯5月4月下午發表公布，因負債3500英鎊而進入托管狀態，同時被英格蘭聯賽會扣除十分，之前說在數字上的留級可能，但被扣分後以36分跌至榜末，必定和修安聯及盧頓一齊降落第三級別的英甲作賽。這亦是列斯聯創會八十八年來, 首次降到第三級聯賽。

列斯聯宣布破產後，將由現任主席Bates另組新公司接手，在SkySports的訪問中說到，希望列斯聯在新的一季有新的開始：
"The financial burden of the past finally pushed the club into administration following the issuing of a winding up petition by HM Revenue and Customs who will be one of the company's major creditors.

"The action taken brings to an end the financial legacy left by others that we have spent millions of pounds trying to settle but the important thing now is not to view this as the end, but the beginning of a new era."

在5月6日的比賽中，列斯聯最後火0：2不敵打比郡。在聯賽榜得36分包尾。這埸比賽亦是Gary Kelly効力列斯聯16年來的最後一埸比賽。

在來季比賽中，北愛爾蘭國脚David Healy亦有很大的機會離隊。


無論如何，在英甲比賽的列斯聯在入場球迷、電視轉播的收入都極有可能減少下，要如何爭取好成積還要看Bates如何管理球隊和Wise的帶領。
